Our Policies

Here at New Life Care, we take every step possible to ensure that our space is a safe space for anyone who is looking to access any of the services or programs we offer.

EINVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

At New Life Care we respect and care for the environment where we live and work.  Our staff, volunteers and contributors strive to minimise any negative impact that our Food Relief Centre may have on the environment.

We promote the use of reusable shopping bags, and use minimal packaging when presenting our food options. We have systems for composting food waste, and we utilise recycling and reusing items wherever possible.

We engage with rescued food avenues and through this we actively assist our community to prevent unnecessary food waste.

INCLUSIVITY POLICY

At New Life Care we treat each of our stakeholders with respect, dignity and courtesy.  We approach our clients with compassion and we strive to give them the most dignified and helpful interactions that we can.

We respect that our local community has diverse needs.  In our Food Relief Centre, we offer choices in food selection to ensure that each client has a positive experience with us regardless of age, cultural background, gender, or preferences.

We present our Food Relief Centre in the Free-Supermarket model to ensure that we offer not only choice, but also culturally appropriate food options.

Our Food Relief Centre respects people’s choice to follow vegan diets, vegetarian diets and other eating philosophies and we facilitate this without prejudice.

COMPLAINT MANAGEMENT POLICY

At New Life Care we promote positive, professional behaviours and positive, respectful language.  We provide induction training to ensure that our volunteers have an understanding of professional behaviour expectations.

We invite feedback on all of our activities in the community and have multiple ways that individuals can contact us in a dignified and private manner.

We welcome feedback, whether positive or negative and strive to address any situation that is brought to our attention.  We meet with any parties affected and create discussions that will bring the best solutions.  We will inform any complainant with any policies or actions that are an outcome of their feedback.
