Crisis Resource Hub

Since 2013 New Life Care has provided a traditional food relief centre every Wednesday afternoon in the Wodonga community. Agencies representing people in crisis situations have contacted us to source food for their clients outside of the traditional hours of our program

In response to this, in August 2021 The Crisis Resource Hub was created to support people experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, financial hardship and people fleeing domestic violence.

The Crisis Resource Hub has grown to not only serve the needs of people who are referred by agencies, but also individuals who have self-referred.

Each year over 150 hampers have been placed in the hands of vulnerable people in our community where they are given a shelf stable food hamper and the dignity of choosing breakfast cereal, milk, frozen food, and offered gluten free options if needed.

We direct people accessing The Crisis Resource Hub back to our Wednesday Food Relief Centre when appropriate and offer further referrals to agencies who can support in other areas.

In line with the Victorian healthy food relief guidelines, we run a nutrition centric food relief program, that is free from unhealthy items such as soft-drinks, and lollies.

There is always a need, and if you are able to help us to reach more people, there are ways you can get involved.
